Frequently Asked Questions
Does CellLingo.online upload formulas to a server?
The checker, fixer, formatter, translator, explainer and converters in this version run in your browser. Formula text is not intentionally sent to CellLingo for those tools.
How many functions are in the library?
The reference finder contains more than 450 function names. The cross-language translator currently uses a smaller mapped set where we have explicit English, French, German and Spanish names.
Why are the translator and the function library different sizes?
The reference library can safely list canonical English function names, while cross-language translation requires an explicit mapping for each language. CellLingo does not invent a localized name when a mapping is not in the dataset.
Can the Formula Checker guarantee that a formula works?
No. It can catch structural warning signs such as unbalanced parentheses, but only a spreadsheet engine with your actual workbook data can fully evaluate a formula.
Is CellLingo affiliated with Microsoft?
No. CellLingo.online is an independent spreadsheet education and utility website. Microsoft Excel is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation.
